The initiative comes as energy costs and network mining difficulty continue to escalate. This week, Bitcoin's mining difficulty rose 1.48% at block height 844,704, reaching 84.38 trillion. The increasing difficulty coincides with a spike in the network's hash rate, indicating the entry of more miners.
