What Happened: KindlyMD, an established provider of integrated healthcare services, will combine with investment firm Nakamoto to launch a company with a primary focus on bitcoin treasury holdings. The deal is valued at around $600 million and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024, pending approval from KindlyMD and KindlyMD’s shareholders.

Why It’s Important: As the demand for bitcoin surges, especially from institutional investors in the past two years, the supply of the cryptocurrency on centralized exchanges has dropped drastically.
