The leak doesn’t provide much information beyond the cosmetic asset of a supposed question block-themed vehicle. However, the leaker iFireMonkey further revealed in the comments that the file is titled “MC box,” which could stand for “Mario coin box.”

The question block is a well-known Mario element where the player can find a power item and usually a coin, accompanied by an iconic sound effect.

Super Mario in Fortnite is unlikely due to its family-friendly genre

The comments from users on the tweet were largely positive. Some players expressed hope for the developers to create a mode based on Mario Kart, one of the popular game series.

Other players speculated that the referenced block might be related to Rocket Racing. However, this is highly unlikely as the game has stopped receiving major updates.

On the other hand, the possibility of a collaboration with Super Mario seems doubtful as Nintendo, due to its family-friendly orientation, would likely not want its famous characters to be shot at or holding a gun.

Fortnite’s universe has seen the inclusion of various popular characters, such as Peely and Fishstick. The Battle Royale mode in the game has also featured an impressive lineup of collaborations.

These collaborations span a wide range, including films, anime, comics, music personalities, TV series, sports, and influencers. It also boasts notable collaborations with IPs of popular games like Streetfighter, Gears of War, Leagues of Legends, and Assasin’s Creed.

Moreover, fan-favorite characters like Chun-li, Ryu, and Ezio Auditore have graced the battle royale. But the iconic Mario has yet to make an appearance in the game. If the rumor turns out to be true, that might change soon.
