Telegram-based crypto game Catizen has encountered difficulties in launching its CATI token and airdrop, sparking frustration within the game's community. The developers have acknowledged the delay, explaining that they are working to optimize key elements for a successful token listing.

The team behind the crypto game announced the delay in a message to the community, revealing that they are aiming to get listed on major exchanges, offer multiple trading options, and secure a proper listing price. They also mentioned other factors, such as compliance and market sentiment, that could potentially impact the delay.

“We are working hard to get listed on major exchanges, ensuring multiple trading options, and a proper listing price, among other aspects that are entirely out of our control but could potentially delay the process,” the team stated.

The team also took the opportunity to explain their Token Generation Event (TGE) to Catizens users, outlining their strategy to encourage long-term holding and increase the value of CATI tokens after they are listed on exchanges. Notably, seed round investors, advisors, and the team will not receive any tokens at the TGE.

“At the Token Generation Event (TGE), seed round investors, advisors, and the team will receive 0% of the CATI tokens. This ensures that no tokens are allocated to these parties at the TGE, with the aim of ensuring that the CATI token price can appreciate after listing, allowing the community to enjoy further benefits in the long run,” the team explained.

The crypto game also addressed another point of contention among players—its $100,000 donation to animal rights organization PETA. In response to the controversy surrounding PETA's practices, Catizen has temporarily halted the in-bot collaboration.

The Catizen token delay follows a similar announcement by Hamster Kombat, another Telegram tap-to-earn game that recently disclosed a delay in its token launch beyond its July target.
