Senator Joe Gruters has introduced a bill that would allow the state to invest a portion of its funds in BTC as a hedge against inflation. “The state should have access to tools such as BTC to protect against inflation,” Gruters stated in his proposal to the Florida Senate on February 7. The bill introduces a mechanism for investing a portion of certain state-managed funds in BTC, not to exceed 10%, through Florida’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The legislation also ensures that all investments will have financial security objectives and will not impair liquidity.
