Cryptocurrency network Dash is preparing for the Mainnet Beta release of its highly anticipated Dash Evolution update on July 29.

The project, which was first mentioned nine years ago and has been led by Westrich for the past three years, will introduce a Queryable Decentralized Database and Decentralized API.

Dash Evolution: Community Voting and Decision Process

Ahead of the Mainnet Beta release, the Dash network conducted a poll among its Masternodes to decide whether to accelerate the release of Dash Evolution.

The results showed 68% of the votes were in favor of the accelerated release, while 32% were against it, excluding abstentions.

Some of the primary reasons cited by those who opposed the accelerated release included the desire for a more stable launch, the need to enable withdrawals from the activation, and ensuring the release was fully ready for external developers.

Despite the narrow margin, the Dash Core Group (DCG) respected the wishes of the majority but added 10 days of testing to enhance stability. As a result, the final release date was set for July 29.

The initial Mainnet Beta release of Dash Evolution will include several key features.

A Decentralized API will offer 23 different platform queries, such as fetching identity details, retrieving keys associated with specific identities, obtaining contract keys for multiple identities, returning the nonce of a specified identity, providing the contract nonce for a given identity, and retrieving the balance of a defined identity.

Following the Mainnet Beta release, the focus will be on ensuring network stability and activating DPNS and Dashpay.
