CoinStats, a popular cryptocurrency portfolio tracker, has encountered a security incident that resulted in scam messages being sent to some iOS users. The incident primarily affected users who created wallets directly within the CoinStats app.

According to the CoinStats team, connected wallets and exchanges were not impacted by the attack. However, users who received the scam messages and connected their crypto wallets to the suspicious website mentioned in the messages may have had their funds stolen.

The team quickly took steps to mitigate the attack and shut down the application temporarily to isolate the incident. They also advised affected users to move their funds immediately.

Further investigation revealed that the victims of this attack were iOS users. They received a scam message and connected their crypto wallet to the suspicious website.

In particular, a wallet owned by Blurr.eth was stolen, containing 3,657 MKR valued at $8.7 million. The hacker sold it for 2,482 ETH on the blockchain. As a result, the trade price of $MKR coin dropped from $2,462 to $2,280, a decrease of 7% in the short term.
