A new 50p coin to celebrate children’s character Zog has been released by the Royal Mint.

The coin is part of the Royal Mint’s Childhood Characters coin collection, which began in 2020 and has previously featured coins to celebrate Paddington Bear, Wallace and Gromit, and the Snowman.

The Zog coin design was created by the Royal Mint’s engraving team and features an illustration of Zog in mid-flight, as he tries to collect a star from the Dragon School’s flagpole. Both coins will be sold for £10.

The new coin was unveiled at an event at the House of Commons on Tuesday. It was attended by Ms Donaldson, Mr Scheffler, and MPs from both the Conservative and Labour parties.
