Claims of XRP market manipulation usually stem from misunderstandings about supply mechanics, escrow releases, and market structure, not secret price control. XRP operates on the XRP Ledger, where all transactions, escrow movements, and token flows are public and auditable on-chain. While Ripple does hold a large amount of XRP, most of it is locked in time-based escrow and released transparently, with unused portions often re-locked. Like all crypto assets, XRP’s price is influenced by liquidity, derivatives trading, market makers, leverage, and broader crypto sentiment, not a single entity pushing buttons. In reality, XRP is less “manipulated” than many low-liquidity tokens—it’s simply traded in a market where speculation often overwhelms fundamentals, causing volatility that gets mistaken for control.
