On September 4th, Polygon Labs announced that it had completed the migration from MATIC to POL. The new POL token is the starting point of Polygon 2.0 and aims to be a “hyper-productive token”, serving as a native token for gas and staking on the network. The objective is to strengthen staking as a validation method and attract more users to the platform. According to Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, POL represents an evolution compared to Ethereum's ETH, earning fees from several different sources.
