Mantle Network is characterized by "hyperscalability" and superior security. Mantle's modular design makes it ideal for gaming and DeFi protocols as it can support high transaction throughput with low fees. The first is a modular Ethereum layer 2 (L2) solution, and on these specialized layers various execution, consensus, settlement and data availability functions are performed.
Unlike many bandwidth-limited solutions, which often compromise network security, Mantle uses optimistic rollup technology and improved data availability, and moves computation off-chain. Transactions are processed in batches, thus reducing the load on the Ethereum mainnet while reducing fees and delays.

EigenLaye is a decentralized re-stake protocol that enables network security. Mantle uses Ethereum's consensus mechanism and set of validators. It derives security from the Ethereum blockchain, making it more secure than other layer 2 networks that use their own consensus models.

MNT is an ERC-20 token and serves as a management and utility token. Each MNT token has equal voting weight, allowing token holders to participate in DAO voting. As a utility token, MNT is used for gas fees and can be collateral for network nodes. There will be a total of 6.2 billion MNT tokens, of which 52% are already in circulation. With a market capitalization of USD 2.9 billion, it is currently the 40th largest cryptocurrency.

The increased adoption of DeFi could, through the Mantle Network, encourage developers to create innovative financial products and services that are not available in the crypto space today.
