Claude Routines Just Made n8n Optional

Apr 15, 2026 at 10:22 pm JeredBlu

Claude Code just shipped Routines — scheduled AI agents that run on Anthropic's cloud infrastructure, not your local machine. No Computer needed. They connect to your remote MCP connectors and fire on a schedule, a GitHub event, or an API call. In this first look, I test whether Routines can actually replace n8n, and build a live demo using a real workflow I used to do myself manually every day. I built a Sponsor Vetter routine that reads my Gmail sponsorship label, researches each company via Bright Data, scores them against my own criteria, logs everything to Notion, and sends me a Slack summary — all running on Anthropic's servers with my computer off. But there's a real security risk here: when you give any autonomous agent access to any public facing email and tools with no permission gates, you open yourself up to prompt injection attacks. Which is why I recommend spending more time building secure automations with several layers of hardening and why I'm turning this off after the demo. I'll also cover the usage limits (Pro = 5 runs/day, Max = 15/day), how this affects your Claude token budget, and where I'd still keep n8n in the stack. ⌚ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - Intro & Awesomeness Risk Disclaimer 0:16 - What Claude Code Routines Is 0:30 - The 3 Trigger Types 0:50 - The Real Unlock 1:54 - Routine Usage Caps 2:08 - Demo Workflow 2:44 - Setup: Model, Connectors & Trigger 2:54 - Why This Is Dangerous (Prompt Injection) 3:42 - Demo Results 5:56 - Usage & Token Impact 7:00 - Final Verdict 🔗 RESOURCES & LINKS: Claude Code Routines → https://claude.ai/code/routines Anthropic Blog Post → https://claude.com/blog/introducing-routines-in-claude-code Routines Docs → https://code.claude.com/docs/en/routines Book a call with me → https://yedatechs.com/#discovery-call Sponsorship inquiries → hi@yedatechs.com #ClaudeCode #AIAutomation #n8n #Anthropic #MCPServers #AIAgents #ClaudeRoutines
