Zetachain (ZETA) has been included to the roadmap by Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. Zetachain's value surged by 20% in the wake of the news, indicating increased investor anticipation and interest.

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has added Zetachain (ZETA) to its roadmap for upcoming asset listings. The news sent ZETA’s value surging by 20%.
Coinbase Adds Zetachain to Upcoming Asset List
After announcing the addition of several cryptocurrencies to its roadmap on Friday, Coinbase included Zetachain for potential listing in the future.
This announcement led to a surge in ZETA’s price, which rose from $0.4628 at the beginning of the day to a high of $0.5544 after the news.
However, the price later corrected and stabilized at around the $0.48 to $0.49 range, showing a close to 20% increase for the day.
Coinbase is adding upcoming assets to a ‘Roadmap’ section, which provides real-time updates on assets that have been identified to be listed.
This section replaces the previous ‘assets under consideration’ list and offers early visibility into potential listings.
By announcing upcoming assets on the roadmap, Coinbase allows investors to be aware of potential listings and adjust their investment strategies accordingly.
However, it’s important to note that trading and transfers of roadmap assets will not be supported until an official listing is announced.
Coinbase also includes a disclaimer stating that recently listed assets may have an ‘Experimental’ label, which could apply to ZETA when it is officially listed.
This label indicates that the product is still in its early stages and may come with higher risks as well as possible rewards.
Zetachain Announces Updates for Cross-Chain Apps
Meanwhile, in its own technological advancement, an update from Zetachain on July 18 announced major updates to its “Universal Apps,” which are designed to operate seamlessly across multiple blockchains.
This upgrade, Gateway, provides a single interface (API) for developers to interact with different blockchains.
This centralized hub will simplify the management of multiple blockchain connections, streamlining the development process for cross-chain applications.
Moreover, the new Localnet development environment will enable faster app creation and testing, simulating a single-chain experience even though the apps function across multiple blockchains.
These advancements in Zetachain’s infrastructure are ultimately designed to realize Universal Apps, which are smart contracts capable of interacting with any blockchain.
They will enable users to send and receive tokens, messages, and contract calls across different chains.
For example, a Bitcoin user will be able to send USDC to someone on the Ethereum blockchain without needing to interact with both chains separately.
Similarly, an Ethereum user will be able to buy an NFT on Zetachain and send it to their account on the Binance Smart Chain in a single step.
