In a July 18 blog post, Yuga Labs, through its Othersidemeta account on X (formerly known as Twitter), confirmed ready plans to launch its highly anticipated non-fungible token game Project Dragon this coming week. This Yuga Labs’ most hyped game will launch on July 27, 2024.

Established in 2021, Yuga Labs is a renowned digital asset incubation studio focused on shaping web3 through storytelling, experiences, and community. The digital asset incubation studio is home to popular non-fungible token collections, including the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, Bored Ape Kennel Club, and Twelvefold.

Other non-fungible token collections managed by the web3 lifestyle and media company Yuga Labs include the CryptoPunks, Meebits, Voyagers, and Kodamara NFT collections. Yuga Labs’ Project Dragon Overview

Through its co-founder Greg Solano, Yuga Labs announced the development of the upcoming Project Dragon NFT game alongside other crypto projects in May 2024. At the time, Solano revealed that BAYC’s latest initiatives would be created through the ‘ODK’ platform to enhance the creation and monetization of 3D games and social gaming experiences within the crypto sphere.

The Project Dragon non-fungible token game will be 3D-monetized and an adrenaline-fueled action game designed to host large-scale team battles. The upcoming Project Dragon NFT game will launch exclusively on Otherside, a metaverse gaming world developed by Yuga Labs.

Yuga Labs’ Otherside is a gamified, interoperable metaverse currently under development. The gaming platform blends mechanics from massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) and web3-enabled virtual worlds. In August 2022, Yuga Labs launched the “First Trip” NFT game into the Otherside, where 4,500 concurrent users were able to join the 3D world.

In March 2023, Yuga Labs launched the “Second Trip”, an NFT game that successfully hosted over 7,000 users. The Bore Ape creator is back with another gameplay, which is expected to onboard more users than previous gameplays. Crypto users and gamers holding Meebits, Voyagers, Kodas, BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, Grailed, Moonbirds, Kodamara, and HVs NFT collections will be able to participate in the game.
