Apr 24, 2024 at 09:20 pm

The total value locked (TVL) in XRPL automated market makers (AMMs) has surpassed 7 million XRP (around 3.9 million USD), with 3.7 million XRP (about 2 million USD) locked as XRP tokens. This represents a significant increase from just a few days prior, highlighting the recent growth in XRPL DeFi activity.

XRPL AMMs Cross 7 Million XRP Value Locked, Driven by XRP Inflows and New Pairings

The total value locked (TVL) within the XRPL automated market maker (AMM) ecosystem has surpassed the 7 million XRP mark, marking a significant increase in decentralized finance (DeFi) activity on the XRP Ledger. This growth has been fueled by steady inflows, the introduction of new trading pairs that incorporate XRP, and the rising value of XRP itself.

According to data from DeXfi, an XRPL-based DeFi analytics resource, the total assets locked in XRPL AMM pools have surged to 7.4 million XRP, equivalent to approximately $3.9 million at current market prices.

Rapid Growth in TVL

The impressive increase in TVL has been observed over the past few days, as confirmed by Vet, a dUNL validator and co-founder of the NFT marketplace xrpcafe. Vet noted that the total value locked had recently exceeded 5 million XRP and was rapidly approaching 10 million XRP.

XRP Dominance

Among the assets locked in XRPL AMMs, XRP remains the dominant force, with a total of 3.7 million XRP locked, valued at approximately $2 million. This represents a significant increase from the 2.2 million XRP locked on April 17, indicating a surge in XRP deposits from network participants.

Key Contributors

The SOLO/XRP AMM pool has emerged as the largest contributor to the TVL, with 1.5 million XRP locked, worth approximately $911,600. This pool boasts a high annual percentage yield (APY) of 2.54% and a fee rate of 0.53%.

The USDC/XRP pool ranks second in terms of TVL, with up to 911,600 XRP worth of assets locked. This pool features a 24-hour volume of 9,700 XRP, while the SOLO/XRP pool has the highest volume at 39,000 XRP.

Ecosystem Expansion

The growth in XRPL AMM activity is part of a broader effort to enhance the DeFi ecosystem on the XRP Ledger. Ripple, the company behind XRP, is actively working to launch a native lending protocol and introduce a native stablecoin on the network, further expanding the DeFi capabilities.

Significance

The surge in TVL within XRPL AMMs demonstrates the growing interest in decentralized finance on the XRP Ledger. It highlights the platform's potential to support a robust and diverse DeFi ecosystem, attracting new users and fostering innovation within the XRP community.
