XRP Attempts to Break Above $2.50 Resistance, but Will It Be Able to Maintain This Level?
Mar 07, 2025 at 08:01 am
Although XRP has made recent attempts to break through the $2.50 barrier, it is still unclear if it will be able to maintain this level.

XRP attempts to claw higher from key support
XRP is attempting to claw higher from a key level of support. The cryptocurrency is still pivoting at a crucial psychological barrier of $2.50. A clear breakout from a technical perspective is still far from certain based on the price action, even though the asset has shown some resilience in recent sessions.
It is now trading at $2.54. However, the lack of strong volume behind this move may throw some doubt on the validity of the breakout.
Usually, a sustained breakout is sparked by a surge in buying pressure, which is pushing the price through a specific barrier, and in the case of XRP, this rally has not had the required momentum yet. Technical indicators are presenting a mixed picture.
While XRP is now trading above the 100-day moving average, which is a bullish sign, it has been facing strong resistance around the $2.70 mark.
The possibility of a retracement is still high until it manages to close above this threshold. The continuation of the consolidation between $2.30 and $2.60 is the most likely short-term case for XRP. If buyers are unable to propel the price above $2.70, then the asset may lose steam and retest lower support levels.
But if it manages to hold above $2.50 and generate sustained buying interest, then XRP could build the strength for a move towards $3.00. However, this scenario is still uncertain, given the current market sentiment.
Dogecoin tries to stay afloat
Dogecoin is once again testing a critical support level as it trades at $0.22. The meme coin is struggling to generate bullish momentum after a prolonged period of bearish price action, which begs the question of whether this support will hold or if more declines are to come.
After a protracted period of bearish trading, DOGE has struggled to recover. It has been encountering resistance for weeks as it fails to set a higher high.
Despite the cryptocurrency market’s broad recovery from recent lows, DOGE has maintained a bearish structure due to its inability to overcome these overhead price ranges. A strong area of support to keep an eye on is the $0.22 level.
This price zone has previously stalled previous downtrends, acting as a robust line of defense. But typically, a support level becomes weaker with each test.
If DOGE fails to maintain itself above $0.22, then more selling pressure may emerge, and the next significant level of support may come around $0.18.
Conversely, if bulls can defend the $0.22 support, then a recovery towards the $0.25-$0.26, where the 50-day EMA is currently hanging, could be possible.
Regaining this level could set the stage for additional recovery towards $0.28. However, to break out of these levels, a notable uptick in buying volume will be required, which has been lacking in recent weeks.
A breakdown below $0.22, on the other hand, would be a clear bearish indication and might trigger a further drop towards $0.18. Given the current market conditions, the ability of DOGE to maintain this critical support level will be a major factor in determining its future fate.
Dogecoin is at a crossroads as it approaches a crucial area of support at $0.22. The next decisive move for DOGE will depend on whether this level breaks or holds.
If buyers step in, a relief rally could unfold, but if this zone gives way, then the rate of the decline could accelerate, pushing prices towards $0.18. Traders should be attentive to price action in the upcoming days.
Ethereum struggles to stabilize after recent swings
Ethereum is struggling to stabilize after a series of rapid price swings. ETH is currently changing hands at around $2,287, showing a slight recovery.
However, the overall market mood suggests that the asset is still far from a comfortable zone.
Recently, ETH bounced off the $2,100 support as it attempts to regain higher price ranges. But despite this recovery, the asset is still in a predicament. The 50-day and 100-day moving averages are still sloping downwards, indicating bearish pressure.
Also, ETH’s inability to sustain a price above $2,500 contributes to the narrative that bullish momentum is waning.
On a brighter note, a crucial resistance zone is still the $2,600-$2,700 range. If Ethereum can close above this level, it might regain enough strength to challenge the $2,900 mark.
But any breakout attempt is likely to be short-lived without a significant volume surge.
In contrast to Bitcoin, which has managed to maintain relative stability, Ethereum has reacted more strongly to the
