The Tools for Humanity (TFH) group is responsible for organizing this event. As per the original statement, the majority of WLD tokens will be issued to those with valid World IDs.

The team went on to say that these individuals will be rewarded with the coins for being exceptional humans, based on what the team has shared.

Worldcoin’s Token Unlock Event

U.Today reports that they further stated that this strategy has enabled nearly six million different people to join the Worldcoin network. The unlocking event has been started by the team and will be carried out linearly each day.

Last week, the Tools for Humanity team informed the Worldcoin Foundation that 80% of the WLD coin, which they hold, will be unlocked during this highly anticipated event. Additionally, the initial three-year duration has now been extended to five years. This follows the overarching goal of Worldcoin.

Moreover, the WLD crew has clarified that World ID users’ WLD awards will not be impacted by this token unlock. The WLD unlock first began last year.

During this period, a total of 12.5 million WLD tokens were made available. The current plan is for it to continue till 2026, by which time 3.20 million WLD tokens will have been unlocked.
