If You Woke Up to Zellsis Promoting a Crypto Scam on Twitter, You Probably Knew Something Was Off
Mar 11, 2025 at 01:00 am
While Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro, known as the 'Money Man,' is no stranger to jokes, things took a bizarre turn when his Twitter account was hacked.

If you woke up to Zellsis promoting a crypto scam on Twitter, you probably knew something was off.
While Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro, the 'Money Man,' is no stranger to jokes, things took a bizarre turn when his Twitter account was hacked. Usually filled with memes and gaming commentary, Zellsis's account was suddenly shilling "Sentinel Coin" in a series of hastily written posts.
But the posts were quickly deleted, and for good reason. Not only did they make claims like "Devs are doxxed!" and "Huge opportunity! Get in early!"—which should have set off immediate alarm bells—but the word Sentinels was also misspelled as Sentinals throughout.
The post read in full: "Yo everyone! I've been meaning to tell you all about this HUGE opportunity I've been keeping quiet about for a while now. As you know, I'm always on the lookout for interesting projects, and this one really caught my eye. It's called Sentinel Coin and the devs are doxxed.
"They're building something special, and I'm excited to be a part of it. I know a lot of you are interested in crypto and this is something you don't want to miss. Get in early while you can! For those who don't know, I've been following crypto for years and I'm impressed with what I'm seeing. The technology is groundbreaking and has the potential to revolutionize the financial industry.
"But it's important to be cautious and do your own research. Don't trust anything you see online, especially if it seems too good to be true. I'm sharing this because I believe in the project and I think it's worth checking out.
"Again, this is something you don't want to miss! Join the community and learn more about this incredible project."
The Biggest Red Flags
The posts were quickly deleted and Zellsis later confirmed that his account had been hacked.
But if you did see any posts from Zellsis promising easy money, exclusive perks, or anything that seemed too good to be true, it was best to assume that the account had been compromised.
Why Gamers Are Prime Targets
Crypto and esports have been converging more frequently in recent times, with NFT collaborations, fan tokens, and crypto sponsorships blurring the boundaries between the two domains.
Hackers are keenly aware of this trend and they know that gamers, already accustomed to the digital economies within games like skins and loot boxes, are susceptible to pivoting their attention to the "next big thing" scams.
As such, they might be more likely to engage with posts about a new cryptocurrency or an exclusive investment opportunity.
However, it is crucial to exercise caution and skepticism towards any such claims, especially when considering the context of a hacked account.

In an age where disinformation travels rapidly, it is best to verify any claims before accepting them as factual. If a post or message seems suspicious, it is advisable to report it to the relevant platform or authority.
