Oct 14, 2024 at 07:09 pm
WalletConnect is airdropping 185 million WalletConnect Tokens (WCT) to the onchain community, with the first season, which includes an airdrop of 50 million tokens, now open for registration.

WalletConnect Airdrop: A Guide to Registering, Eligibility, and More
WalletConnect, a leading onchain UX ecosystem, is set to launch its native token, the Connect Token (WCT), and announce a multi-season airdrop of 18.5% of the total WCT supply. This airdrop aims to reward dedicated users and contributors to the network.
Here's a closer look at the WalletConnect airdrop, including how to register, the eligibility criteria, and the upcoming airdrop seasons:
WalletConnect Airdrop: How to Register
The registration program for the WCT airdrop event commenced on September 24, 2024, and will run until October 18, 2024. Participants will be able to check their eligibility from November 2024.

WalletConnect Airdrop: Eligibility Criteria
There are different eligibility criteria for WCT airdrop participants. Meeting these criteria improves participants' chances of benefiting from the airdrop, although this doesn’t guarantee eligibility.
The criteria are split into two categories: user and contributor.
User Activity
Connections to decentralized applications through the WalletConnect protocol across supported networks.
Number of transactions signed through WalletConnect protocol.
Overall on-chain activity for the connected wallet(s).
Contributor Activity
Contributions to CAIPs (Chain Agnostic Improvement Proposals). CAIPs are blockchain developments and innovations whose relevance is not limited to a single blockchain network.
Contributions to EIPs (Ethereum Improvement Proposals). EIPs are proposed development for the Ethereum network.
Usage of EVM SDKs (Software Development Kits).
Usage of non-EVM SDKs is also considered in this category.
Open-source projects that positively impact the on-chain ecosystem are also considered in the contributor category.
Note that the snapshot for the Season 1 WCT airdrop was taken on September 1. Only activities completed before this time are considered for the first phase of the airdrop.
WalletConnect Airdrop: Season Structure and Upcoming Airdrops
The total airdrop allocation spans multiple seasons, and in Season 1, 50 million WCT (5% of the distribution) will be distributed to eligible users and contributors. The remaining airdrop allocations will be distributed in subsequent seasons.
In Season 1, 40 million tokens (4% of total supply) will be distributed to users while contributors will receive 1% of the total supply.
After Season 1, there will be Season 2, Season 3, and Season 4, each lasting for a year and distributing 30%, 25%, and 20% of the total airdrop allocation, respectively.
This concludes the key information regarding the WalletConnect airdrop, including how to register, the eligibility criteria, and the upcoming airdrop seasons. For more details and updates, visit the official WalletConnect airdrop page.
