Upcoming Token Unlocks from IONET (IO), MOCA Network (MOCA), Aptos (APT), Arbitrum (ARB) and Starknet (STRK)
Mar 11, 2025 at 05:30 am
Phoenix Group data shows that IONET (IO) along with MOCA Network (MOCA), Aptos (APT), Arbitrum (ARB) and Starknet (STRK), as well as other crypto projects, plan to unlock specific parts of their locked token supply.
IONET (CRYPTO: IO) and MOCA Network (CRYPTO: MOCA) are among several crypto projects that plan to unlock a part of their locked token.
Also on the list are Aptos (CRYPTO: APT), Arbitrum (CRYPTO: ARB), Starknet (CRYPTO: STRK), Cyber (CRYPTO: CYBER), Game7 (CRYPTO: G7), Highstreet (CRYPTO: HIGH), and Vana (CRYPTO: VANA).
These projects are preparing to release their tokens as part of a broader token unlock event that will take place between March 11 and 16, according to Phoenix Group data.
Token unlocks occur when previously locked tokens, typically held by early investors, team members, or a protocol treasury, become transferable in the open market. These events can impact market dynamics through their effects on circulating supply, which in turn affects market demand and price.
As more tokens become liquid, it increases market liquidity. However, unlocks can also put downward pressure on prices if large tranches of tokens are sold en masse by those who gain access to them.
The total value of tokens scheduled for unlock over the upcoming days ranges into the hundreds of millions of dollars. Among the projects with the largest amounts of tokens being unlocked in March 2025 are Aptos and Arbitrum.
Investors and traders who invest in and trade these tokens should keep an eye on major token unlock events, as these releases can have a significant impact on crypto prices.
Here is a full breakdown of upcoming major token unlocks:
March 11: IONET is expected to unlock 3.07 million IO tokens, which amounts to 0.38% of the total supply, and has an estimated market value of $2.61 million. Also on March 11, MOCA Network is set to distribute 178.51 million MOCA tokens, which corresponds to 2.01% of the total supply, at a total value of $16.21 million.
March 12: A total of 11.31 million APT tokens will be unlocked from Aptos, which will be the largest release in March 2025, as it comprises 0.99% of the network’s total supply and has a market value of $63.35 million. Game7 will see the release of 358.36 million G7 tokens, which will be 3.58% of the total supply, at a total value of $1 million.
March 14: The release of 2.37 million HIGH tokens from Highstreet will constitute 2.37% of the total supply and has a market value estimation of $1.56 million.
March 15: Starknet will launch its unlocked supply of 63.99 million STRK tokens, presenting 0.64% of the total tokens and a value of $10.66 million. The upcoming CYBER token release from Cyber will add 838.23K CYBER tokens to the total supply, amounting to 0.84%, and maintaining a value of $1.05 million.
March 16: The last day of scheduled unlocks brings two substantial projects as tokens will be released from Arbitrum and Vana. During the planned token release Arbitrum will free 92.63 million ARB tokens, which will be 0.93% of the total supply, at a total worth of $33.91 million. The Vana release of 452.60K VANA tokens will be 0.38% of the available supply and has a market value of $2.44 million.
A total of $132 million tokens are set to unlock within the upcoming timeframe, which might cause price instability for these assets in short-term markets. Major token unlocks, such as Aptos with $63.35 million tokens and Arbitrum with $33.91 million tokens could experience selling pressure as early holders might sell their tokens to profit.
The specific liquidity levels and trading volume will decide how these events affect token prices. All crypto traders and investors should keep track of forthcoming token unlocks, especially those affecting high-value projects, including, IONET, APT, ARB, and STRK.
