Unilabs (UNIL) Steals the Spotlight from Ripple (XRP) as Its DeFi Fund Grows to Over $30.6 Million AUM
May 20, 2025 at 02:28 am
While the Ripple price has regained momentum after recent development overseas, XRP holders are showing increased network activity and pushing an optimistic narrative
The price of Ripple (CRYPTO: XRP) has been making headlines recently as it shows no signs of slowing down despite a recent setback for another crypto giant.
What Happened: As analysts noted a boom in trading activity on South Korean exchanges for major crypto projects like Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), several tokens have seen volume decrease slightly.
However, there has been a surge in trading volume for Ripple on Upbit (the biggest crypto exchange in South Korea). Over the last 24 hours, trading in XRP on the exchange has seen a volume of over $1 billion, which is more than Bitcoin and Ethereum on the platform combined.
Also, a measure known as ‘cumulative volume delta’, which signals whether aggressive buying or selling pressure dominates trading volume, has flipped bearish for XRP, indicating that Koreans are signalling a bullish stance on the token.
There’s precedent for South Korean activity driving recent price movements; the token, used for facilitating cross-border payments, is extremely popular in the country. Apart from Upbit, the other big four crypto exchanges, Bithumb, Korbit and Coinone, also show massive XRP trading activity hinting at a potential decline in the price of the token.
Hot on the heels of some stellar fundraising feats, Unilabs (CRYPTO: UNIL) is stealing the spotlight again with its fast-growing DeFi fund. It has now crossed over $30.6 million in AUM.
The advanced asset management network is also making swift progress with its presale. Still in its first stage, the offering has already raised over $600,000 in the first 96 hours.
Those figures attest to the strong interest in Unilabs’ (UNIL) unique proposition. The platform infuses next-generation AI technology to speed up complex operations.
It unlocks investment solutions through predictive analysis, data-backed predictions and discovers upcoming DeFi solutions to help users stay ahead of the curve.
It is also noteworthy that Unilabs (UNIL) is poised to continue its presale journey in the coming days, with the next stage of the offering set to launch shortly. Commencing at a starting price of $0.005, UNIL tokens will be sold at $0.006 in the second presale stage.

Why It’s Important: The renewed interest in XRP in South Korea comes as the token has seen a major inflection point following a $50 million settlement that the Securities and Exchange Commission reached on May 8 with two of its executives, Chris Larsen and CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
The SEC announced it would be dropping its claims against the two executives in an administrative order.
The move comes as part of a broader effort by the SEC to ramp up enforcement actions against crypto firms. Earlier this year, the agency sued several crypto firms, including Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) and Binance.
The SEC’s case against Ripple began in December 2020, when the agency alleged that the company sold unregistered securities in the form of XRP to investors.
The agency also alleged that Ripple executives misled investors about the token’s price and liquidity. Ripple has maintained that XRP is a currency and not a security.
The SEC’s case against Ripple was one of the most closely watched cases in the crypto industry. It has significant implications for the future of crypto regulation in the U.S.
The agency’s decision to settle the case with the two executives is a significant development. It signals that the SEC may be open to reaching compromise in certain cases.
The case is still pending in federal court.
The bullish expectations for XRP are also increasing as the trade tensions take a brief pause between the U.S. and China.
Standard Chartered (OTC: STANF) digital assets research head Geoffrey Kendrick predicts that the price of XRP could double to $5.50 this year. He expects the token to reach $8.00 in 2026 and more than $10 in 2027. In 2029, he sees XRP listed at $12.25, which would be a 382% increase from its current rate.
According to the latest data from Coinglass, traders are making strong optimistic bets on XRP perpetuals, or futures contracts without expiration dates.
The analysis shows that longs outnumber shorts on XRP perps by a factor of three-to-one, the biggest margin for any major crypto.
Unilabs (CRYPTO: UNIL) is heating up. The crypto startup is quickly expanding its fast-growing DeFi asset management network.
It’s no surprise, given the stellar progress. So far, Unilabs (UNIL) has already crossed over $30.5 million in AUM.
Another interesting development is that Unilabs (
