The Trump family's net worth has reportedly climbed by $2.9 billion in just six months
May 05, 2025 at 05:59 pm
With the way American-owned coins are pumping, I think we are back.
In just six months, the Trump family’s net worth has reportedly climbed by $2.9 billion, largely thanks to World Liberty Financial and strategic moves in the cryptocurrency sector.
Their portfolio now includes the $TRUMP and $MELANIA meme coins and a significant stake in World Liberty Financial, a crypto exchange associated with the family. Here are the top coins Trump owns and the ones likely to pump:
From Meme Coins to DeFi Platforms
Once viewed as mere gimmic்கள், the $TRUMP and $MELANIA tokens have become central to a portfolio reshaping Donald Trump’s post-presidency finances. Together with a sizable stake in World Liberty Financial, cryptocurrencies now account for nearly 40% of his wealth, according to a watchdog report.
This is in stark contrast to the administration's lukewarm attitude toward cryptocurrencies during Trump's presidency.
At the time, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had launched multiple investigations into crypto firms, including one targeting Justin Sun, a key backer of World Liberty Financial, who had been charged with fraud. However, the agency abruptly paused these probes after Trump took office.
Furthermore, the administration faced criticism for allegedly mishandling a liquidity crisis in the DeFi sector, which arose during the early months of the pandemic.
Highlighting the family’s endeavors, a recent post on X by Emily Burns showcases the potential integration of World Liberty Financial with America's largest financial institutions.
The post also mentions a $2 billion investment in the exchange by Abu Dhabi's MGX, which is being channeled entirely through USD1—the stablecoin developed by World Liberty Financial.
According to reports, the Trump family controls a 60% stake in World Liberty and receives 75% of its future token revenues.
The vast majority of a stablecoin and highly influential crypto company being owned by the Trump family has drawn criticism from ethics watchdogs.
“The president is exploiting loopholes in ethics laws that allow sitting presidents to retain financial interests,” said Danielle Brian of the Project on Government Oversight.
