Tron's Daily Active Users Soar, Surpassing Solana
May 13, 2024 at 08:00 am
Tron [TRX] has surpassed Solana [SOL] in daily active addresses, with over 2 million compared to SOL's under 1 million. TRX also shows a more favorable trend in active addresses than SOL, while SOL exhibits a better recovery in Total Value Locked despite Tron's higher TVL.

Tron's Dominance in Daily Active Users Surpasses Solana
In a recent surge, Tron [TRX] has emerged as the leading platform in terms of daily active addresses, outperforming its competitor, Solana [SOL]. According to data gathered by Coin98 Analytics, Tron boasts an impressive 2.4 million daily active users, marking a significant 50% growth from the previous month. This surge has propelled Tron to the top, while Solana's user count trails behind at 854,000, despite its notable NFT activities.
TRX Exhibits Positive Trend in Native Token Value
An analysis of the respective native tokens, TRX and SOL, reveals a contrasting trend. TRX has recently outperformed SOL, exhibiting a more favorable trajectory. This divergence suggests that Tron's dominance may extend beyond active user engagement to value appreciation.
Total Value Locked: SOL Recovers, Tron Remains Stable
Despite Tron's impressive TVL of $8.3 billion, which nearly doubles that of Solana's $4.3 billion, a closer examination of the TVL trends paints a different picture. Solana has demonstrated a more rapid recovery in TVL since the market downturn in April. While both TRX and SOL experienced sharp downtrends, SOL's TVL has rebounded more swiftly, showing signs of recovery. TRX, on the other hand, has faced persistent downtrends, indicating potential vulnerabilities.
Contrasting Price Trends for TRX and SOL
Over the past six days, TRX and SOL have exhibited contrasting price trends. TRX has enjoyed consecutive uptrends, rising from around $0.120 to $0.126 during this period. At the time of writing, TRX's price has increased by approximately 0.16%.
Conversely, SOL faced consecutive declines on May 7th and 8th, losing over 7% of its value and dropping to around $142. However, it experienced a significant recovery on May 9th, gaining over 7% and bringing its price back to around $152. Subsequent declines have left SOL trading at around $144 at the time of writing, representing a 0.3% decrease.
Implications for Future Platform Engagement
If TRX maintains its positive price trajectory, its daily active address volume may continue to rise. However, if SOL's price continues to decline, it could negatively impact its active user base.
Overall, the recent surge in Tron's daily active addresses and the favorable trend of TRX's native token suggest that the platform is gaining significant momentum. Solana, while facing temporary challenges, has shown signs of recovery in its TVL. The contrasting price trends of TRX and SOL highlight the dynamic nature of the cryptocurrency market and underscore the importance of ongoing monitoring and analysis.
