Tom Brady Reveals He May Have Been Concussed During His Historic 28-3 Super Bowl LI Comeback
May 08, 2025 at 01:20 am
Tom Brady is a legend in the sport of football. He has won seven Super Bowl championships, the most by any quarterback in NFL history. He is also a five-time Super Bowl MVP and a three-time NFL MVP. Brady has been an elite quarterback throughout his entire career, and he is still playing at a high level at the age of 45.
One of the most improbable and historic games in NFL history was Super Bowl LI. It was Brady’s fifth victory in the Big Game, but the nature of the win makes it one of the most improbable and historic games. It is, of course, the 28-3 game. But, in a recent interview, Brady had a crucial detail about the performance.
Recently, Tom Brady joined the IMPAULSIVE podcast and he opened up about some interesting details from his legendary 28-3 comeback win at Super Bowl LI.
It is a game that has been replayed countless times and is still talked about today, as the Atlanta Falcons were completely outplaying the New England Patriots. In fact, the Falcons were leading 28-3 in the third quarter before the Patriots managed to tie the game in the fourth.
From there, the game went into overtime where the Patriots scored a touchdown to complete an incredible 25-point comeback.
However, Brady may have pulled off the feat while dealing with more than just the large deficit.
As the seven-time Super Bowl Champion discussed, he was feeling the effects of a big hit that he took.
“I was exhausted. I took a pretty big shot on our last drive, I got hit in the head pretty good. I was on autopilot from the last drive in the fourth quarter and in overtime. There were two drives, and they’re really foggy.”
For those keeping track at home, the types of symptoms that Brady describes are consistent with a concussion.
The official X page of the podcast even framed the question, “Was Tom Brady CONCUSSED during legendary 28-3 Super Bowl comeback?”
But, for Brady, he describes it as being in the moment.
“I remember after that game, I was just exhausted and probably didn’t understand what exactly happened. Cause look, you’re in the moment.
“You’re not seeing it from the fans’ perspective. You’re seeing it from your perspective. And then it takes you a little while to decompress in a game. And when you watch it, you’re like, ‘Holy S***'”
If there was ever a way for the legend of Tom Brady to grow even further, he played arguably the greatest game of his career, concussed. And still registered a 25-point comeback victory in the clutch.
