Tokenized Funds on Sei Network: KAIO, Hamilton Lane & the Future of Finance
Oct 15, 2025 at 09:00 pm
KAIO brings Hamilton Lane's SCOPE Fund to the Sei Network, marking a leap in institutional blockchain adoption and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).

The world of finance is rapidly evolving, and at the forefront of this transformation are tokenized funds. With KAIO leading the charge, major institutional funds are finding their way onto blockchain networks, expanding access to regulated money markets and alternative investment strategies. The recent integration of Hamilton Lane's SCOPE Fund onto the Sei Network is a prime example of this exciting trend.
Hamilton Lane's SCOPE Fund Goes On-Chain with KAIO
On October 15, 2025, KAIO announced it was bringing access to Hamilton Lane's Senior Credit Opportunities Fund (SCOPE) on-chain via the HL SCOPE Access Fund. This move leverages Sei Network's DeFi-optimized design to enhance accessibility for institutional and accredited investors.
Olivier Dang, COO of KAIO, emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, "This marks another major milestone in institutional blockchain adoption. By using the Sei Network, we're bringing composable access to leading fund strategies entirely on-chain. It's the foundation for real-time, programmable, financial infrastructure built for the next era of investing."
Sei Network: The Ideal Blockchain for Tokenized Funds
The Sei Network's high-performance capabilities, combined with KAIO's institutional-grade infrastructure, facilitate secure and compliant access to alternative investment products like the SCOPE fund. Sei is a Layer 1 blockchain designed for fast, cheap financial transactions, merging the network effects of Ethereum with the performance of Solana. With billions of transactions processed across more than 70 million wallets, Sei has become a leading EVM chain by the number of active users.
Tokenized Funds: Expanding Institutional Use Cases
The tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) like the SCOPE fund opens up a myriad of possibilities. These assets can serve as collateral within DeFi protocols, be incorporated into stablecoin frameworks, or held as reserves that earn yield for investors. KAIO has already tokenized over $200 million in institutional assets across funds from BlackRock, Brevan Howard, Hamilton Lane, and Laser Digital.
BlackRock's Growing Interest in Tokenization
BlackRock has been actively exploring ways to bring its investment funds, including ETFs, onto blockchain systems. Last month, it was indicated that BlackRock is considering tokenizing its ETFs to allow 24/7 trading, fractional ownership, faster settlement, and global accessibility. BlackRock’s ICS US Dollar Liquidity Fund is already tokenized via KAIO on Hedera and has now been extended to Sei.
Ripple's Role in the Tokenization Ecosystem
Ripple is also making significant strides in the tokenization space. Partnerships with entities like Bahrain FinTech Bay aim to pilot stablecoin rails and digital-asset custody for regulated institutions. Ripple's RLUSD is positioned as a key settlement instrument in these pilots, connecting tokenized assets with payment flows. Furthermore, Ripple has signed an MoU with DBS and Franklin Templeton to launch trading and lending solutions that pair tokenized money-market funds with RLUSD on the XRP Ledger.
The Future is Tokenized
The convergence of tokenized funds, high-performance blockchains like Sei, and institutional interest from giants like Hamilton Lane and BlackRock signals a profound shift in the financial landscape. It's a new era of programmable capital, where traditional finance meets the agility and transparency of DeFi.
So, buckle up, folks! The tokenization train has left the station, and it's headed straight for a future where finance is more accessible, efficient, and, dare I say, a whole lot more fun.
