Earlier, Indian Premier League introduced a similar "Champak-like robot dog" for the 2025 edition. The quadruped robot dog had several advanced features which gained a lot of attention during the IPL 2025 tournament.

The robot dog, which is being used by the TNPL for the 2025 season, can be seen in a new video shared by the league on Instagram. In the short clip, the robot dog is seen walking around the stadium and greeting the crowd. It is also seen playing fetch with a ball and rolling over on command.

The TNPL has also shared a post about their latest introduction, 'Subramani'. In the post, the league said that they are always looking for new and innovative ways to entertain their fans. They decided to introduce a robot dog to their broadcast team for the 2025 season.

"This Champakl-like robot dog has several advanced features which gained a lot of attention during the IPL 2025 tournament. Now, another premier league in India has also introduced a similar robot dog for its broadcast team," a part of the post read.

The post further highlights that the robot dog, named 'Subramani' by TNPL, will be a part of their broadcast team throughout the 2025 season. The post also mentions that the robot dog is capable of performing various tasks, such as playing fetch, rolling over, and even bringing the coin for the toss.

The TNPL 2025 season is currently underway and set to conclude on June 15.
