Trump reportedly left the event immediately after his speech. He departed the venue in a golf cart bound for his helicopter, per the WIRED report. “Trump could have at least given the top people their watches himself,” Pinto said.

The crypto-themed gathering drew a quirky and eclectic mix. Independent traders mingled with crypto executives, devoted Trump supporters, and even some professional athletes, according to the report.

Former NBA star Lamar Odom stood out in the crowd. A few attendees wore Bitcoin-orange bowties, while others showed off flashy gold Trump sneakers.

An independent crypto trader, who was not identified by WIRED, hadn’t originally planned on attending the dinner. Their goal was to profit from a potential price increase in the TRUMP token triggered by the competition.

However, with the trade currently in the red, they decided to make the most of the situation and enjoy the upscale dinner instead.

Trump is said to have made a typically meandering and off-topic speech, which insiders say ran for about 25 minutes. Eventually, he covered the topic of cryptocurrency.

“Did you see the helicopter?” Trump asked as he arrived at the venue in Marine One.

“Yeah, super cool!” someone shouted in reply.

Democratic lawmakers strongly criticized the president ahead of the private dinner.

“Donald Trump's dinner is an orgy of corruption. That's what this is all about. We are here today to talk about exactly one topic: corruption, corruption in its ugliest form,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said Thursday at a press conference.

Warren continued: “Donald Trump is using the presidency of the United States to make himself richer through crypto, and he's doing it right out there in plain sight.”

An email to a spokesperson for the president was not immediately returned Friday morning.

The president's daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, were among the guests at the exclusive event. The dinner was held at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The billionaire president's new meme coin, which is named after him and features his likeness, was launched by the former reality TV star earlier this year. It is currently being sold on the Trump Digital platform.

The coin, which is available in both ETH and BTC, is being sold in three tiers, with the most expensive tier, the Diamond tier, going for 10 ETH or BTC. At current prices, that works out to about $15,000.

Buyers of the Diamond tier will receive a limited-edition Trump watch, a copy of Trump's new book, and an invitation to the president's private dinner on Thursday.

The second tier, the Platinum tier, is going for 5 ETH or BTC and includes a Trump coffee table book and an invitation to the president's VIP party on Friday.

The third and final tier, the Gold tier, is going for 1 ETH or BTC and includes an autographed copy of Trump's book and an invitation to the president's public rally on Saturday.

Those who purchase the coin will also receive a small piece of Trump's personal art collection, which includes paintings, sculptures, and photographs.

The coin is currently being sold at a discount, with prices set to increase over time.

The initiative has drawn criticism from some corners, with some seeing it as an unserious distraction from pressing issues.

However, the coin has also drawn interest from some unexpected places.

Earlier this week, Democratic presidential candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren slammed Trump for using the presidency to enrich himself.
