Tether CEO Believes Bitcoin Is Safe from Quantum Computing, Calls BTC the “Supreme World Asset”
Feb 09, 2025 at 02:29 pm

Tether (USDT) Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Paolo Ardoino has shared his thoughts on Bitcoin ($BTC) and quantum computing. Taking to his X profile, he made a public statement indicating that quantum technology has not yet reached a stage where it could threaten Bitcoin’s security.
Ardoino maintains that Bitcoin cryptography functions securely at present. The current level of advancement in quantum computers does not provide sufficient power to breach Bitcoin’s encryption systems. The development of quantum-resistant addresses by Bitcoin will occur before any actual threats materialize, according to his statement.
Bitcoin Remains the Best Asset Due to Its Limited Nature
Ardoino went on to explain that Bitcoin stored in abandoned digital wallets does become susceptible to potential attacks. Hacking into abandoned Bitcoin wallet ownership presents an opportunity to recover lost digital currency for attackers who regain control of wallets without any living owner to access them. Bitcoin owned by Satoshi Nakamoto will also be at stake if he has passed away.
The total number of Bitcoin available for circulation is hard-capped at 21 million no matter what concerns may arise. Ardoino stated that any amount of technological evolution including quantum computing would be unable to modify Bitcoin’s fixed supply. The limited quantity of Bitcoin is a key insight that defines Bitcoin’s value foundation along with its safety measures.

He maintained a strong conviction that Bitcoin is superior to all other cryptocurrency systems. Furthermore, he proclaimed that Bitcoin represents the ultimate world asset because its limited nature guarantees both its safety and the fact that it is scarce. Many Bitcoin proponents endorse this opinion as they view Bitcoin as an inflation hedge and a critical digital asset.
Bitcoin Continuously Improves Security Against Emerging Threats
According to experts, developers working on Bitcoin have already begun processes to enhance security as quantum computing technologies continue to advance. Bitcoin’s future security needs will be met with the implementation of quantum-resistant addresses.
For now, Bitcoin maintains an existing level of protection so users have nothing to be concerned about at present. As technology evolves, the crypto community will need to remain prepared at all times. Bitcoin will continue being the most valuable digital asset by advancing its security measures repetitively.
