Strategy₿ Snaps Up Another 7,633 Bitcoins Worth $742.4 Million
Feb 12, 2025 at 01:44 am
Strategy, the former MicroStrategy, has snapped up yet another 7,633 bitcoins worth a staggering $742.4 million at an average $97,255 per coin.

MicroStrategy has purchased an additional 7,633 bitcoins for a total of $742.4 million, bringing its total bitcoin holdings to 478,740 coins, valued at roughly $31 billion.
The company’s latest purchase comes as markets are experiencing a downturn, with the S&P 500 index falling 0.3% and the Nasdaq Composite index rising 0.2%.
However, MicroStrategy’s stock price has surged over 250% in the past year, outperforming both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite.
The company’s bitcoin holdings are now worth more than its total market capitalization.
MicroStrategy’s bitcoin purchases have been a key part of its strategy to generate returns for its shareholders.
The company has used its bitcoin holdings to generate a 4.1% yield for its shareholders in 2025.
MicroStrategy is also planning to use its bitcoin holdings to launch new products and services, such as a bitcoin-backed exchange-traded fund (ETF).
MicroStrategy’s latest bitcoin purchase comes after the company announced that it had not sold any Class A common stock or acquired any bitcoin as of Feb. 2.
However, the company’s filings with the SEC also included a note stating that this information could change in the future.
"The foregoing statement is true and correct as of the date of this report and, to the best of the knowledge of the registrant, will continue to be true and correct through the filing date of the registrant's next periodic report on Form 10-Q or Form 10-K, as applicable, following the filing date of this report, at which point the registrant will no longer be obligated to provide such statement in any subsequent report filed with the Commission."
MicroStrategy’s dedication to bitcoin was further highlighted on Feb. 5, when the company unveiled a striking new logo and website, both adorned with an orange hue to symbolize its unwavering commitment to the digital asset.
The following day, MicroStrategy filed an attachment to Form 3 with the SEC, revealing BlackRock’s growing interest in the company.
According to the filing, BlackRock now holds a 4.97% stake in MicroStrategy, which equates to 11,198,144 shares of common stock.
This marks an increase from the previous stake of 4%, which was reported in December 2024.
The filing also shows that Dimensional Fund Advisors has reduced its stake in MicroStrategy from 6.06% to 4.96%, while Vanguard Group, another large asset manager, has maintained its stake of 3.1%.
