The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has partnered with social lifestyle app STEPN to issue NFT digital sneakers in honor of the legendary football team.
As a result of this partnership, fans can win great prizes and participate in lotteries for the next two years.
Announced on X, formerly Twitter, STEPN unveiled its long-term collaboration with the Argentine Football Association (AFA), one of the most iconic teams in the history of football, to launch Genesis NFT Sneakers and award real-life rewards to fans.
This partnership marks a significant step for the Association as it expands into Web3.
"The world saw them lift the trophy. Now, we team up with the champions.
We are proud to announce our long-term partnership with the Argentine Football Association, one of the most iconic teams in the history of football. The reigning world champions with the latest three-star logo, the legends of the game, AFA, inspire the next generation of players.
As part of this collaboration, we will launch the Genesis Sneakers in co-branding and unlock exclusive real-life rewards, including autographed jerseys and match tickets. This is just the beginning, stay tuned for more information!"
The new partnership between STEPN and AFA will span two years and will feature a series of Genesis NFT sneakers being distributed among fans through lotteries.
This marks the beginning of the famous Argentine football team’s journey into the world of Web3.
Leandro Petersen, commercial and marketing director of the AFA, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the goal of reaching the next generation of Argentina National Team fans with passion and excellence.
At the same time, STEPN aims to increase its already significant number of registered users in the app. Currently, the move-to-earn project based on Solana boasts over 5.7 million users globally.
The Genesis NFT collection with Adidas
Last September, STEPN GO launched its own Genesis NFT collection in collaboration with Adidas.
This collection comprised 1,000 Non-Fungible Token digital sneakers sold for 10,000 GMT each, with a refund provided to unsuccessful applicants.
Applicants for the sneakers were selected through a lottery organized by STEPN GO and announced on MOOAR, the NFT marketplace of FSL.
This initiative marked the second phase of the partnership between STEPN GO and Adidas, which began in April of the previous year.
