American fast-food chain company Steak n Shake will start accepting Bitcoin payments at all its branches in the U.S. shortly, a move that brings the food-chain company in line with the global trend of businesses and nations looking to cash in on crypto payments.
The food-chain company announced its latest venture on X on May 9.
"Steak n Shake will now accept Bitcoin at all its branches in the U.S. starting May 16. The movement is just the beginning... Steaktoshi," part of the announcement read.
This move by the fast food chain, as Bitcoin Pizza Day quickly approaches, has sparked additional discussions. Nearly a decade and a half back, on May 22, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 BTC to buy a pizza, the first-ever fast food payment made via Bitcoin.

The fast food chain currently operates 393 outlets in 23 states and territories in the U.S.
This news has also rung the chorus bells for crypto market participants as the flagship coin's utility and real-life use cases continue to get recognized. In turn, BTC further cements its dominant stance across the broader global market, attracting more investors with its potential.
At the time of writing, BTC price soared nearly 6% in the past 24 hours and traded at $102,754. The flagship coin hit a low of $99,122.68 and a high of $104,297.49 in the past 24 hours. Interestingly, a BTC price analysis by CoinGape further revealed that the crypto has rallied against the backdrop of strong market technicals and Trump-fueled positivity.
