New stacked Bitcoin and gold ETF filed

Quantify Chaos Advisors and Tidal Investments are teaming up to launch a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) that will track the performance of both Bitcoin and gold. The STKD Bitcoin & Gold ETF will be the first-of-its-kind ETF to offer investors a way to invest in both assets without the need for direct ownership.

The ETF will use leverage to combine the total return of its Bitcoin strategy holdings with the total return of its Gold strategy holdings. The Bitcoin strategy will invest in BTC futures and ETFs, while the Gold strategy will invest in Gold futures and ETFs. The ETF will not invest directly in Bitcoin, other digital assets, or physical Gold.

The STKD ETF will begin trading on the NYSE Arca on September 9, 2024. The ETF will be actively managed by Quantify Chaos Advisors, and Tidal Investments will serve as the ETF’s co-portfolio manager. The ETF will have a net expense ratio to be announced later.

Bitcoin has been gaining ground as the “Digital Gold” over the years, emerging as a recognized store of value within the crypto community. Despite generating higher returns than Gold over the past decade, Bitcoin remains subject to high volatility. In contrast, Gold has a long-standing reputation as a safe-haven asset, attracting investors seeking stability.

This complementary dynamic between Bitcoin and Gold strategies is highlighted in the preliminary filing by Quantify Chaos Advisors. By combining assets with low correlation, the ETF aims to reduce the impact of short-term market movements, ultimately leading to a more stable investment trajectory for investors.
