Apr 08, 2024 at 07:05 pm

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) witnessed a notable recovery, amassing over $569 million in net inflows after a minor setback on April 1. The positive trend suggests sustained investor interest in BTC ETFs, with Grayscale's GBTC experiencing an outflow amidst overall market optimism.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs Rally with Weekly Inflows of $569 Million

U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs Surge After Initial Dip, Witnessing Over $569 Million in Weekly Inflows

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have exhibited a remarkable turnaround since their initial decline on April 1st, 2024. Bolstered by substantial inflows, these ETFs have concluded the week on a positive note, indicating sustained investor interest in Bitcoin (BTC) exposure.

Positive Week Concludes with Significant Inflows

According to the most recent data, spot Bitcoin ETFs garnered a substantial inflow of $203 million on Friday, capping off a positive trading week. This surge in inflows followed an initial dip marked by $84.7 million in net outflows on April 1st. However, the ETFs swiftly recovered, accumulating $569.4 million in net inflows over the subsequent four trading days.

On April 2nd, the inflows commenced at a modest $39.5 million, escalating to $113.5 million the following day. The surge reached its peak on April 4th, with inflows reaching $213.4 million.

Grayscale's GBTC Experiences Outflow Amid Market Optimism

Despite the overall market optimism, Grayscale's GBTC witnessed the most significant outflow among ETFs on Friday. Amidst the day's ETF trading volume of $2.37 billion, a decline of 31.5% from Thursday's $3.46 billion, GBTC faced outflows.

The outflow from GBTC comes as the ETF continues to hold 325,686.78 BTC, while Blackrock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC saw inflows, with holdings now standing at 259,381.18 BTC and 149,339 BTC, respectively.

Sustained Inflows Underscore Market Confidence

Despite the initial turbulence experienced by the crypto spot markets in April, the 11 U.S.-based Bitcoin ETFs have emerged from the week with renewed vigor, showcasing ongoing market optimism.

Although trading volumes fluctuated and certain outflows transpired, the consistent inflows over four days underscore investors' continued interest and confidence in the market.

Crypto Market Poised for Doubling in Value, Industry Leader Predicts

Industry experts remain optimistic, with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse predicting that the cryptocurrency market's value could double this year. The anticipated surge is attributed to the introduction of spot ETFs and the impending Bitcoin halving event.

Garlinghouse has emphasized the potential of these macro trends to attract institutional investments into the cryptocurrency space for the first time.

Conclusion

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have demonstrated remarkable resilience amidst initial market volatility, with substantial inflows indicating a continued positive sentiment towards Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market. As sentiment remains buoyant and industry leaders foresee further growth, the future of cryptocurrency investments appears promising.
