The Space and Time Foundation has been launched to support the next stage of growth and decentralization
Apr 29, 2025 at 11:30 pm
The Space and Time Foundation has been launched to support the next stage of growth and decentralization within the Space and Time ecosystem.
In a significant development, MakeInfinite Labs, the founding entity behind the Space and Time network, is transitioning its responsibilities to a newly formed Foundation. This move marks a shift in strategy from a corporate-led model to an independently run organisation.
The Foundation will be responsible for supporting the network’s operation, coordinating key stakeholders, and facilitating continued research and adoption of Space and Time’s core technologies. This transition is designed to foster community involvement, decentralisation, and the future of the network.
The transition follows a substantial period of development by MakeInfinite Labs, during which the network launched testnet and mainnet, achieved integrations with major blockchains and institutions, and initiated programs for developer engagement.
The scope of MakeInfinite Labs' contributions includes the creation of Proof of SQL, a zero-knowledge (ZK) coprocessor technology enabling verifiable query computation on SQL databases. This innovation allows for the generation of ZK proofs directly from SQL queries, merging the worlds of relational databases and blockchain scalability.
Moreover, MakeInfinite Labs developed and deployed the Space and Time database infrastructure, a parallel network of spatially distributed nodes that collectively process and attest to the state of the network. This infrastructure is designed to be highly scalable and modular, enabling the integration of diverse data sources and use cases.
As the Foundation assumes responsibility for governance and development, MakeInfinite Labs will continue its activities in enterprise integrations, ZK research, and application layer innovation.
This transition ensures continuity in technical leadership and innovation, and it opens the door for broader participation in shaping the network going forward.
Key contributors from MakeInfinite Labs will be joining the Foundation to ensure consistency in leadership. Scott Dykstra, Co-founder and Contributor #001, will be leading engineering and developer relations at the Foundation. Catherine Daly will be Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and responsible for ecosystem expansion and community initiatives at the Foundation.
The Foundation is also governed by an independent Board of Directors, who will be responsible for strategic planning and treasury management.
The Foundation's plans for the future include establishing developer funding programs, organizing hackathons, and implementing outreach programs to promote the use of ZK-proven data in applications across the blockchain, artificial intelligence, and enterprise sectors.
With infrastructure support and transparent governance models in place, the Space and Time Foundation is poised to lead the ecosystem toward the future of scalability, decentralization, and community involvement.
