Solana Price Prediction: SOL Token Could Explode Higher as Network Continues to Fire on All Cylinders
Nov 22, 2024 at 11:04 am
The SOL token has risen for three consecutive weeks, reaching a high of $260, up by over 3,245% from its lowest point in 2022, bringing its market cap to over $117 billion.

Solana price soared to a record high on Monday as the network continued to fire on all cylinders. The SOL token rose for three consecutive weeks, reaching a high of $260, a surge of over 3,245% from its lowest point in 2022.
Solana price could explode higher
Technicals indicate that the SOL price is poised for a massive breakout in the coming months. A weekly chart shows the formation of a cup and handle pattern, a widely recognized continuation indicator.
A cup and handle (C&H) pattern emerges when an asset ascends to a peak, followed by a gradual decline and the formation of a rounded bottom, ultimately retesting the previous peak. In Solana's case, the first peak was at $260, representing its highest level in 2021, which it retested this week. The lower handle of the pattern formed at $8.42, marking its lowest point in 2022.
To estimate the profit target in a cup and handle pattern, the best approach is to measure the upper and lower sides of the cup. For SOL, this distance measures approximately 2,863%. This move projects an eventual rally to as high as $7,000 in the long term.
Further bolstering this outlook, Solana breached a key resistance level at $210, which was its highest level in March this year. It also surged past the 50-day and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMA), while oscillators pointed to an uptrend.
Therefore, the SOL token is likely to remain in this range or even pull back to form the handle section and then bounce back. On the downside, a crash below the support at $110 would invalidate the bullish view.
Solana's booming ecosystem
A primary driver behind the SOL price is its thriving ecosystem, particularly in meme coins and decentralized public infrastructure (DePIN). The total market cap of all Solana meme coins surged to over $21 billion. Among them are tokens like Bonk, Dogwifhat, Popcat, and Peanut the Squirrel.
These tokens played a crucial role in pushing Solana's DEX networks to record highs. Data showed that these networks processed over $92 billion in coins this month, surpassing Ethereum's volume by more than two times. Solana's 24-hour volume also surged by 44% to $6.97 billion, while Ethereum's declined by 33.7% to $2.93 billion.
Solana also generated substantial fees this year. According to Token Terminal, Solana's fees soared to a record high of $548 million this year. This trend is likely to continue as the network experiences a boom, largely driven by its meme coin ecosystem.
