Solana Mobile Expands Web3 Mobile Ecosystem with TEEPIN Architecture, SKR Token, Confirms Seeker Shipping Date
May 21, 2025 at 08:03 pm
Solana Seekers will begin shipping worldwide August 4, 2025
Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, has announced the next phase of its Web3 mobile ecosystem. The company revealed the official ship date for its flagship Seeker device and introduced two foundational pillars of its long-term strategy: TEEPIN, a decentralized infrastructure architecture, and SKR, the native asset powering the Solana Mobile ecosystem.
Solana Mobile's flagship device, Seeker, will begin shipping globally on August 4, 2025.
Solana Mobile is expanding its platform to additional hardware manufacturers while decentralizing its web3 mobile ecosystem. Central to this vision is TEEPIN — the Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network — a three-layered technical architecture that allows developers, users, and device makers to participate in a secure, trustless mobile environment.
"TEEPIN represents the next evolution in mobile — a framework where trust isn't granted by a central authority but verified through cryptography," said Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder and CEO of Solana Labs. "By leveraging secure hardware that already exists on modern smartphones and governing access on-chain, we're unlocking open innovation, platform ownership, and a decentralized future for mobile."
Solana Mobile's TEEPIN Architecture Overview:
TEEPIN is composed of three layers:
* Application Layer: Developers build dApps and services deployable across multiple devices and operating systems.
* Platform Layer: Hardware manufacturers integrate the Solana Mobile OS and contribute to the ecosystem with specialized devices.
* Blockchain Layer: The Solana blockchain serves as the foundation, securing assets, identities, and governance.
At the center of Solana Mobile's framework is the forthcoming SKR, the native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem. SKR will power economy, incentives, and ownership across the ecosystem, aligning users, developers, and hardware manufacturers towards growing the web3 mobile ecosystem.
"Aligning incentives is essential to building a truly decentralized and self-sustaining mobile ecosystem," said Emmett Hollyer, General Manager of Solana Mobile. "It transforms the traditional mobile business model by giving stakeholders actual ownership in the platform. Instead of being passive consumers in someone else's walled garden, users, developers, and hardware manufacturers become active stewards of a community-owned digital infrastructure."
Solana Mobile's second-generation device, Seeker — which comes equipped with a hardware Seed Vault, Genesis Token, and all new features like the Seed Vault Wallet, Seeker ID, and a reimagined Solana dApp Store offering a vastly improved UX for secure onchain engagement — begins shipping globally on August 4, 2025. Early Adopter pricing remains available for a limited time at $500.
Customers who have already preordered must confirm their shipping address at solanamobile.com/shipping to ensure delivery.
Solana Mobile Inc., a subsidiary of Solana Labs, is advancing the technology for a new generation of web3 mobile devices and software. Solana Mobile's open-source software and modular hardware reference designs are enabling hardware manufacturers to build and deploy a variety of excellent web3 mobile devices, such as the flagship Solana Seeker, which is now available for preorder at solanamobile.com.
