Solana vs Avalanche: Which Will Dominate the Altcoin Throne in 2025?

Solana and Avalanche are two of the most popular altcoins, both aiming to overcome Ethereum's dominance. But with the crypto winter thawing and altcoins showing strength again, which one will take the scepter in 2025?
Solana ($SOL) is known for its lightning-fast transactions, processing up to 65,000 per second, compared to Ethereum's 15. It's also very cheap, and already hosts thousands of dApps, NFTs, and games. Solana had a big highlight in 2024 with high adoption and market confidence returning.
However, it has suffered from network outages that generated criticism, although it has been recovering strongly and showing resilience.
Avalanche ($AVAX) brought the concept of customized subnets, something that large projects prefer. It's ideal for private and public blockchains to coexist, and transactions are fast with almost instant finality.
There's also huge institutional support and promising partnerships. The advantage? More flexibility than Solana in some technical aspects, which may attract companies and governments.
