Snek: The Memecoin That's More Than Just a Joke
Jul 06, 2024 at 07:01 am
Snek is a coin that goes beyond crypto; it's a decentralized, community-owned brand that has already made forays into the worlds of software and energy drinks.

Snek is a memecoin that goes beyond crypto; it's a decentralized, community-owned brand. The coin has already made forays into the worlds of software and energy drinks.
The idea of a community-driven memecoin might seem like a disaster waiting to happen, but this model has already created a fiercely loyal follower base for Snek.
At the core of Snek's success are creatives and engineers who are veterans of the crypto industry. This includes Rami, Sal, GoofyCrisp, Mr Goldenhour, and brand director Max Maher. Throughout the year, holders vote on key decisions that will shape the coin's future and the brand's direction.
Snek boasts an impressive follower base of roughly 43,000, with engagement rates on par with those of coins with millions of followers. This highly involved community is also reputedly capable of taking the brand in the right direction—surveys show 80% of Snek holders have expert knowledge of the crypto space, and more than half make more than $60,000 per year, making them a high average income community.
Snek's community base is also highly optimistic about the coin's future: 98% of holders rate Snek's potential at four out of five stars or greater, and 83% rate it at five out of five stars.
Snek was created in the Cardano ecosystem, and it's already widely regarded as the community coin of Cardano. But how does Snek truly stand out against competitors?
It's utility as more than just a memecoin. Although it's still relatively new, the Snek brand already has products in both the digital and physical worlds.
Community members can access the Snek-branded token generator tool on Cardano, and more branded software tools are in the works.
However, if you'd rather experience the brand hands-on, you can purchase Snek Energy, a low-calorie beverage that promises to help you "Get energized and slither through the day!"
This kind of brand expansion isn't the only initiative helping Snek grow in popularity. If you've spent any time over at Cardano, you might remember the infamous Yummi Universe NFT situation, where more than 5,000 NFT holders saw their assets instantly become worthless.
In an act of goodwill, Snek airdropped coins into each digital wallet holding Yummi Universe NFTs.
Currently, the contributors at Snek are focused on getting the coin listed on Binance. This goal has led to a new and entertaining initiative—a 24/7 livestream that Snek community member RTB claims will run until Binance lists the coin.
This already holds the world's longest-running X space, and it's been successfully attracting the attention of new Snek fans, many of whom were just stopping by to see what all the fuss was about.
Where will Snek go from here? It's already a memecoin with an origin story like no other. It's also the world's fastest-growing community-owned brand. A Binance listing could dramatically raise Snek's profile, but whether it's ultimately listed or not, this next-gen memecoin is definitely one to take note of.
