Sleep Token Claims First No. 1 Album On Billboard 200 With ‘Even In Arcadia’

Sleep Token's Even in Arcadia debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the English rock band's first career chart-topping album

Sleep Token have scored their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Even In Arcadia. The English rock band also claims the biggest week by units for any rock album in nearly a year, and the biggest for any hard rock album in two years, while setting a record for the largest streaming week ever for a hard rock album.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. based on multi-format consumption, i.e. each chart week's Top 10 albums are determined by an aggregation of the week's top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, the week's top 10 on the Current Albumix chart (which measures activity in streams, album sales and digital song sales) and the week's top 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart.

Sleep Token's Even In Arcadia collected 86,000 units in the week ending Thursday, August 10, according to Luminate. Of that sum, 77,000 were in on-demand audio streams—the best mark for a hard rock album since Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti in August 2022. The band's previous best was 45,000 units for This Place Will Become A Tomb in August 2021.

The last rock act to score a larger week was in October 2022, when Ghost's Impera opened with 94,000 units. The last hard rock band to earn a bigger week was in August 2021, when A Perfect Circle's The Eye Of The Tornado launched with 90,000 units.

Also making a strong debut on this week's Billboard 200 is Kali Uchis with Sinceraily, entering at No. 2. The album becomes the singer's third to reach the Top 10. Her previous high-charting effort was 2020's Isolation, which peaked at No. 7 in June 2020.
