Sleep Token has officially announced their new record *Even In Arcadia* for May 9! Sleep Token is streaming the first single “Emergence” right now and it's totally different than everything the band has done. It's shamelessly more hip hop-leaning, but also more overtly metal at points rather than simply hinting at heaviness. It's a cool song, but pretty different – it's obvious Sleep Token is aiming for something unique on *Even In Arcadia*.

After teasing fans with snippets of their upcoming record throughout the week, Sleep Token has finally announced the release date for *Even In Arcadia*. The record arrives on May 9 via Nuclear Blast. To celebrate, the band has also shared the first single “Emergence.” It's a totally different sound than what fans are used to from Sleep Token.

While Sleep Token typically flits between metal and hip hop, “Emergence” leans shamelessly into the latter sound at times. There are also some more overtly metal moments on the track, whereas on previous records, Sleep Token hinted at heaviness rather than fully diving in. Overall, it's a pretty different sound than what fans are used to from the band, but it's certainly interesting.
