After a dip in August, the first week of September didn’t bring much sunshine to the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Sales slid by 7.69% over the seven-day period.

Non-fungible token (NFT) sales slipped during the first week of September, decreasing by 7.69% to $82.31 million, according to data from cryptoslam.io.
The total NFT transaction count also saw a significant drop of 36.93% compared to the previous week, with 1,001,643 transactions recorded.
Ethereum NFTs led the sales with $30.92 million, showing a slight decrease of 0.92% from the previous week. Solana NFTs followed with $14.23 million in sales, marking a sharper decline of 25.16% but still securing the second position. Bitcoin-based NFTs also had a strong presence, with $10.9 million in sales, although this was a 20.18% decrease from the prior week.
Cryptopunks, an Ethereum-based NFT collection, topped the sales chart this week with $4.92 million, despite a 9.24% decrease from the previous week. Immutable X's Guild of Guardians also had a notable performance, generating $3.2 million in sales and securing the second position. BNB's Luxemarathoner collection followed closely with $2.6 million in sales, boasting an impressive 4,441.73% gain and claiming the third spot.
The most expensive NFT sold during the week was a Cryptopunk #6,915, which sold for $1.46 million, according to cryptoslam.io. A GETH Locked Deposit on Arbitrum sold for $419,000, and an Ordinal Maxi Biz on Bitcoin sold for $80,300, respectively.
Overall, the recent NFT sales performance showcases a shifting market dynamic, with even top collections experiencing mixed results. As the NFT landscape continues to evolve, these fluctuations may signal broader trends in digital asset engagement, with collectors and investors adjusting to the latest changing conditions. The resilience of certain collections also indicates that interest in NFTs remains, albeit with cautious optimism.
