Securitize, Tokenized Trading, and EU Approval: A New Era for Digital Securities
Nov 27, 2025 at 07:54 am
Explore Securitize's EU approval for tokenized securities trading, its implications, and the broader tokenization landscape. Is this the future of finance?

Securitize, Tokenized Trading, and EU Approval: A New Era for Digital Securities
The financial world is buzzing about tokenization, and Securitize is leading the charge. With recent EU approval and strategic partnerships, are we witnessing the dawn of a new era for digital securities? Let's dive in.
Securitize's Groundbreaking EU Approval
In November 2025, Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) gave Securitize the green light to operate a fully regulated trading and settlement system for tokenized securities across the European Union. This landmark approval, granted under the EU’s DLT Pilot Regime, positions Securitize as the first company licensed to operate such infrastructure in both the US and the EU. Talk about a global powerhouse!
But what does this actually mean? Simply put, Securitize can now offer a complete service for security tokens, from issuance to trading and settlement, all within a single transaction. This streamlined process, expected to launch with its first tokenized assets in early 2026, promises to revolutionize how securities are managed and traded.
Why Avalanche? Speed and Compliance
Securitize is building its EU platform on the Avalanche blockchain. Why Avalanche? Speed is key for reducing settlement risk. Avalanche also offers permissioned subnets, customizable blockchain environments designed to meet regulatory compliance requirements. This provides the privacy financial institutions need while ensuring transparency on a public blockchain. It's a win-win!
Avalanche's ecosystem is booming, with over $1 billion in real-world assets already tokenized on the network, including BlackRock’s BUIDL fund. The total value locked in BUIDL is over $2.05 billion. This shows the growing confidence in Avalanche as a platform for tokenizing real-world assets.
Securitize's Expansion and Strategic Moves
This EU approval isn't Securitize's first foray into Europe. Back in December 2024, they secured an Investment Firm license from the same Spanish regulator, later extended to Germany, France, and Italy. This earlier license allows them to execute orders and provide custody services. Now, with the CNMV approval, Securitize is operating at a higher level, akin to a stock exchange or clearinghouse.
Adding to the excitement, Securitize announced a deal to become a publicly traded company through a merger with Cantor Equity Partners II, valuing the company at a cool $1.25 billion. With partnerships with major asset managers like Apollo, BlackRock, and KKR, Securitize is clearly playing in the big leagues.
Tokenization Beyond Securitize: A Growing Trend
Securitize isn't alone in the tokenization game. Competitors like Germany’s Boerse Stuttgart and Switzerland’s Taurus are also developing similar settlement platforms. This shows that the tokenization trend is gaining momentum across Europe.
And the potential is huge! A Boston Consulting Group report estimates that the total value of tokenized assets could reach $18 trillion by 2033. That's not chump change!
The Plume Partnership: Institutional Assets on the Blockchain
Securitize isn't just focused on Europe. They're also making waves in the US. Their partnership with Plume, a blockchain specializing in regulatory-compliant real-world assets, is a game-changer. This collaboration will deploy institutional assets on the Plume network, bridging traditional finance with decentralized innovation.
The initial deployment will feature funds from Hamilton Lane, with plans to expand across multiple issuers and asset classes through 2026. Solv Protocol's commitment of up to $100 million to Plume’s RWA vaults provides substantial financial backing. And with Bluprynt’s Know Your Issuer (KYI) verification, compliance is a top priority.
Ondo Finance: Another Player in the Tokenized RWA Space
Ondo Finance is another company making strides in the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) space. They recently purchased $25 million of YLDS, a yield-bearing stablecoin issued by Figure Technology Solutions, to strengthen their OUSG product, which gives investors exposure to U.S. Treasuries.
Ondo has also expanded its tokenized asset offerings to the BNB Chain and received regulatory approval to bring its products to the European Union. While the ONDO token has faced some selling pressure, the company's strategic moves suggest a promising future in the tokenized RWA market.
Final Thoughts: Is Tokenization the Future?
With Securitize's EU approval, strategic partnerships, and the growing adoption of tokenization by other players like Ondo Finance, it's hard to ignore the potential of this technology. The combination of regulatory compliance, institutional backing, and blockchain efficiency creates a compelling case for mainstream adoption.
While the journey may have its bumps, the direction is clear: tokenization is poised to transform the financial landscape. So, buckle up and get ready for the ride! Who knows, maybe one day we'll all be trading tokenized assets from our smartphones while sipping lattes in a Parisian café. The future is closer than you think!
