WILMINGTON — Raymond “Ray” Thomas Flanigan, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of the community

Ray was born on August 18, 1938 in Schenectady, NY to the late Raymond Flanigan and Hazel Bradt Flanigan. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and stepfather. Ray was a member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) and the Lower Cape Fear Coin Club. He enjoyed studying World War II history, genealogy, and coin collecting.
Ray was an IT consultant and Chief Compliance officer. He worked for Booz Allen, Standard & Poor’s, McGraw Hill, Anaconda, and Ford Motor Company. He was a proud volunteer at the North Creek Museum in New York and the Brunswick County election polls. Ray was also a member of the Catholic Church.
Ray was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jacqueline Mixter Flanigan; sister, Gail Flanigan Sciamanna; children, Kevin Flanigan, Terry Flanigan, and Sherri Flanigan; step-children, John Mixter, Todd Mixter, and Scott Mixter; grandchildren, Shane, Meghan, and Patrick Flanigan; and step-grandchildren, Christian, Gabriel, Priya, Naiya, and Alex.
