The coin has been listed on auction website eBay with a 'buy it now' price of £8,086.72 or best offer.

The Hereford-based seller said the coin, which dates from 2019, is circulated but in "very nice clean" condition.

The listing said the coin is uncertified.

According to eBay, there is one active offer for the listed coin, although the website does not provide further information on that offer.

The Royal Mint released coins depicting Paddington Bear standing outside St Paul's Cathedral in London in 2019, marking the 60th anniversary since the bear's creation in 1958 by Michael Bond.

The set of coins depicted Paddington visiting other London landmarks, his namesake train station and the guards outside Buckingham Palace.

Prices at the time included £10 for a “mint condition” brilliant uncirculated finish coin and £850 for a gold coin.

The listed coin does not include the bear in colour, unlike the advertised Royal Mint collection.

Interested parties can either collect the coin from an address in Hereford or pay an extra £8.35 for Royal Mail postage.
