Coin experts have revealed the exact details to look for in a dollar coin that could make it highly valuable.
If you own the rare coin, you could be sitting on up to $21,600.
The popular TikTok page Treasure Town shares coins to look out for that are worth a pretty penny.
In a video from April, the coin expert revealed the one-dollar coin worth thousands.
He advised his followers to keep their eyes peeled for a 1977 silver Eisenhower dollar coin.
"This dollar is extremely rare and pretty valuable as well," began the TikToker.
He showcased one such coin that sold for $21,600 in May 2022.
The expert noted that the 1977 silver Eisenhower dollar coin is one of the top 100 modern coins in America.
The coin fanatic explained why the 1977 Eisenhower coin boasted such a high price tag.
He noted the Eisenhower dollars were struck from 1971 to 1978.
They were the first large dollar coin since the US Mint stopped producing the Peace dollar in 1935.
There were also plans to produce a dollar coin in 1964, but those coins were never officially released and were subsequently melted down.
The TikToker noted that most Eisenhower coins were struck from copper and nickel, the same composition quarters are made from today.
However, for the 200th anniversary celebration of America in 1976, the Mint produced numerous Eisenhower coins from 40% silver.
These silver coins can be identified by their silver edge, which lacks the copper stripe seen on clad coins.
They also weigh slightly more than standard clad Eisenhower dollars.
He shared that the 1977 Eisenhower coin is rare due to an error at the Mint.
Some silver planchets from the Bicentennial production remained and were struck with 1977 dies instead of the 1976 Bicentennial dies.
It is believed that around 20 of these 1977 silver Eisenhower dollar coins exist.
