Blockchain Development Platform QuickNode Secures $5.3 Million Seed Funding for Expanded Web 3 Horizon
Miami-based blockchain development platform QuickNode has garnered an impressive $5.3 million in seed funding, strategically led by Seven Seven Six, a venture capital firm established by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The funding round witnessed notable participation from SoftBank's Opportunity Fund, Arrington XRP Capital, Crossbeam, and Anthony Pompliano, among other esteemed investors.
This influx of capital will serve as a catalyst for QuickNode's ambitious expansion plans, fueling the development of an array of new products and bolstering its toolset as the adoption of cryptocurrencies continues its exponential trajectory. Dmitry Shklovsky, QuickNode's co-founder, emphasized the company's commitment to sustaining this momentum.
"We are actively seeking exceptional engineering and tech talent to reinforce our team and elevate our offerings, ensuring an unparalleled level of performance and reliability for our valued customers," Shklovsky remarked in an exclusive interview with CoinDesk.
QuickNode's existing platform seamlessly integrates six widely recognized blockchain networks, namely Ethereum, Bitcoin, xDai, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, and Optimistic Ethereum, with several more in the pipeline. The platform has garnered a diverse clientele, ranging from developers working on non-fungible token (NFT) projects to established institutions managing substantial crypto asset portfolios exceeding billions of dollars. Prominent clients include DappRadar, Curve (acquired by PayPal in early March), and the prominent NFT platform Rarible.
In his interview with CoinDesk, Ohanian, the driving force behind Seven Seven Six, shared his perspective on the remarkable evolution of crypto and blockchain technology since his early investment in Coinbase nine years ago.
"We are witnessing an unprecedented surge in the number of talented developer teams eager to enter the blockchain development space. QuickNode plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap, empowering these teams as the blockchain ecosystem continues to expand," Ohanian stated.
Ohanian, drawing on his extensive experience as Reddit's co-founder, characterized QuickNode as a cornerstone technology provider, representing a strategic "picks-and-shovels play" from an investment perspective.
"Just as Web 2's emergence would have been inconceivable without cloud services like AWS, QuickNode is poised to become the foundational infrastructure for Web 3," Ohanian asserted. "Seven Seven Six, with its long-standing involvement in the crypto space, is fully committed to supporting startups like QuickNode, which are positioning themselves as the linchpins of the emerging internet."
QuickNode's seed funding round underscores the crescente demand for robust blockchain development platforms that can keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape. As the adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based technologies continues to gain traction, QuickNode is well-positioned to capitalize on this momentum, empowering a new generation of innovators to shape the future of the internet.
