Polygon (POL) Price Drop: 81% of Long-Term Holders in Loss
Oct 10, 2024 at 01:05 am
Polygon and NEAR Protocol holders have recently encountered difficulties. Following a drop in Polygon’s (POL) price, 81% of long-term investors reported average losses

Polygon (POL) price experienced a notable decline recently, leading to unrealized losses for a majority of investors. Throughout September, POL price movements were largely contained within a narrow range of $0.36 to $0.44, before eventually dropping to $0.398 by the month’s end.
On October 2, the token was priced at $0.38, indicating a significant decrease from its all-time high of $1.29 in March. 81% of long-term holders reported average losses of 37% over the past year. For those anticipating a price recovery, the token’s ability to break out of this range will be crucial.
In other news, NEAR Protocol’s Nightshade 2.0 upgrade aimed to enhance the network’s capability to process a higher volume of transactions through sharding. Following the upgrade, activity on the network increased, with transactions rising by 42% and new users joining at a rate of 30.8%. However, trading volume decreased by 13.21% after strong demand.
On October 1, NEAR’s token was valued at $4.81, impacted by a general market downturn. Despite this, NEAR Protocol investors expressed optimism for a price recovery to $5.74 in October, as network improvements bolster confidence in the protocol’s long-term potential.
BlockDAG Presale Surges Past $92M, Attracting Whales
BlockDAG achieved another remarkable milestone as its presale raised $10 million in just 72 hours, pushing the total presale amount to almost $92 million. This meteoric rise was largely driven by whale transactions, highlighting the growing trust and enthusiasm for BlockDAG’s technology among large investors.
Adding to the excitement was the recent launch of the BlockDAG Explorer, which garnered significant attention from blockchain developers. The Explorer provided deeper insights into BlockDAG’s structure and potential applications, including real-time transaction tracking, EVM support, and smart contract capabilities.
Whales had already sold out the 23rd presale batch, and now purchasing activity was at an all-time high. Holders who joined early experienced a growth of 1960% in just 23 batches, with the current price of $0.0206 in batch 24.
According to experts, if BlockDAG can sustain this momentum, the coin’s price has the potential to reach $20 by 2027. In anticipation of such promising returns, traders were flocking to the presale. And with more than half the presale batches released, supply is diminishing rapidly.
The presale’s speed shows major stakeholders’ confidence in BlockDAG’s potential as a future crypto leader. This combination of stellar presale performance and technological excellence has solidified BlockDAG’s status as one of the top-rated cryptos in the market today.
Top Rated Crypto of 2024
Polygon’s price decline and extended downturn have raised concerns among investors about its long-term growth. On the other hand, NEAR Protocol investors are more optimistic, hoping for a price recovery to $5.74 following the rollout of the Nightshade 2.0 upgrade.
Meanwhile, BlockDAG holders are eyeing major returns. With growing interest from large investors and developers’ enthusiastic response to the Explorer, the presale is quickly drawing in new buyers.
As the 24th batch nears sell-out, the coin’s price is expected to jump. For those seeking the next breakout crypto, BlockDAG’s innovative technology and impressive momentum make it one of the top-rated options in the market today.
