Polygon (MATIC) Primed for a 17% Surge as Parallel Channel Pattern Hints at a Bullish Breakout
May 23, 2024 at 09:58 pm
With projections pointing to a potential 17% surge, all eyes are on cryptocurrency Polygon, as industry analyst, Ali, explains how a breakthrough could result in an impressive rally.

Cryptocurrency Polygon (MATIC) has been consolidating within a parallel channel pattern, as observed by industry analyst Ali. The analysis predicts a potential 17% surge if MATIC breaks through the channel's upper trendline.
According to the analysis, the parallel channel pattern involves two trendlines: an upper line connecting the asset's peaks and a lower line connecting the troughs. The price fluctuates within this channel, typically consolidating sideways.
Each retest of the channel's upper line may lead to a sharp reversal to the downside, while the lower line acts as support, helping the coin regain its momentum.
Among the various channels in technical analysis (TA), the one relevant to this analysis is a parallel channel aligned with the time axis. This indicates that consolidation within the channel occurs at consistent top and bottom levels, forming a predictable pattern.
As with other consolidation patterns in TA, a breakout from the channel trendlines often indicates a continuation of movement in that direction. A surge above the pattern implies bullish momentum, while a drop below the channel could suggest bearishness.
Examining Polygon's recent price movements reveals a visual representation of the parallel channel, within which the coin has been operating for the past month. Following the crypto crash last month, Polygon's price has been consolidating within this channel.
During this period, Polygon made several attempts to reach the channel's upper level, but these attempts were ultimately unsuccessful, and the coin failed to secure any substantial breakthroughs. Currently, MATIC is hovering near the upper level again, indicating another retest is likely.
Based on Ali's analysis, if Polygon manages to rally above the channel on this next attempt, a prolonged bullish momentum could follow. An ambitious breakout above the $0.76 mark could lead to a 17% surge, potentially pushing MATIC to $0.88.
The price target takes into account the impact of last month's crash, which saw Polygon drop into a period of consolidation. Given the potential retest of the channel's upper line, all eyes are on Polygon's performance in the upcoming days.
Polygon briefly touched the $0.76 upper level of the channel on Friday, but has since pulled back to $0.72. The asset's price has continued to move sideways, setting the stage for the impending retest. The outcome of this retest could have significant implications for the future of Polygon and is being closely monitored by those following the cryptocurrency world.
