Pokemon TCG Pocket Became a Smash-Hit When It Released for Mobile
Mar 30, 2025 at 02:40 am
input: Pokemon TCG Pocket became a smash-hit when it released for mobile in October last year. Despite a few ups and downs with trading and other features
The massively popular mobile game Pokemon TCG Pocket is getting its own line of merch at Pokemon Center stores.
The first set of items inspired by the hit smartphone game will arrive at Pokemon Center Japan on April 3.
For fans who enjoy the 3D rendering of the full-art cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket, there will be three Paper Theater displays. These displays feature a three-dimensional effect and will showcase Mewtwo EX, Pikachu EX, and Charizard EX with the immersive illustration designs from Pokemon TCG Pocket.
Those who want a bit of merch with a sneak peek at the game's artwork can get the sacoche bag, which has an image of Pikachu EX visible when unzipped. The set also includes a Pack Hourglass keychain, a smartphone shoulder strap featuring Pickachu EX card art, and three different zip pouches that feature Genetic Apex pack art along with some of the coins from the game. Yes, that includes the meme-worthy closeup Mew coin that stares into your soul.
Sadly, there's no indication yet of what the prices for these items will be. Most likely, prices will be available once the items go on sale on the Japanese Pokemon Center website on April 3.
With recent issues related to Pokemon TCG products selling out immediately on the Pokemon Center website, it will be interesting to see how things go with this first merch drop for Pokemon TCG Pocket. Hopefully, fans eager to get some smartphone accessories featuring art from the mobile game will be able to when the items arrive online.
The new merch will be available for purchase at all Pokemon Center stores in Japan except for Pokemon Center Hiroshima starting on April 5.
This first set mainly celebrates artwork from the initial Genetic Apex boosters, which means there’s plenty of potential for additional items if this first set of Pokemon TCG Pocket merch does well. 3D Paper Theater display of that soul-stealing Wigglytuff card, anyone?
