I Played in a $60K Bitcoin Fantasy Football League and This Is My Team

I would be lying if I said I ever played in a $60,000 buy in fantasy league before. Hell I have never played one over $500. But when I got an invite to the Bitcoin league, I did the first thing anyone with rich friends would do and called them to talk them into backing me.

I have never played in a fantasy league with a buy in of over $500. But when I was invited to join a Bitcoin league, I did what anyone with rich friends would do: I called them and asked them to back me.

Both of my friends accepted my offer, giving me a 5% freeroll of the total profit. The winner of the league will receive 6 Bitcoin, which is a great deal! I have also been wanting to start a crypto portfolio, so what better time than now?

I planned my entire Labor Day weekend around the Bitcoin auction draft, which was scheduled for Monday night at 7pm. However, I was sitting in the hot tub at my apartment pool on Sunday night at 6:30 when I received a notification that the draft was starting in 30 minutes.

I quickly scrambled upstairs to dry off and get ready for the draft. Here is the squad I ended up with in a 12-team, 1 QB PPR league:

Before the draft, I decided that I was willing to spend up to $67 on Christian McCaffrey because his value is too strong in a PPR league. He was the first player nominated, and I was happy to get him for $63. I had to show these rich folks that I was not messing around!

I sat back for a while after that and watched everyone else spend money. The top WRs were all very expensive in a PPR draft. I decided to go after Saints WR Chris Olave because he gets a ton of targets in that offense consistently (I got him for $36).

QBs were going cheaper because only 1 starts, and I was thrilled to get my voice brother Patrick Mahomes for $17. I ended up taking a risk on Chiefs rookie speed demon WR Xavier Worthy going for the moon in a stack too.

Because I spent big on CMC & Olave, I went value hunting at RB with Rashaad White ($20) & Zamir White ($12). I’m thrilled with both. I also was able to nab Amari Cooper for $20 which is great value with WRs being so expensive. At Tight End, I spent $12 on Evan Engram but am sure it is a steal in PPR league after he caught 114 passes last season!

I did make a couple of mistakes. I tried to snag 49ers backup RB Jordan Mason as a handcuff to CMC a tad too early and someone stole him from me. And my WR depth is shaky because I ran out of $$$ early with Mooney (ATL), Noah Brown (WAS), DJ Chark (LAC) & Tyler Boyd (Ten).

Overall I am very happy with the draft. This squad is extremely dependent on McCaffrey staying healthy but if he does I am going to be a much wealthier man in 4 months!
